Community Writing Center
As the founding coordinator of the Community Writing Center, a partnership between the East Lansing Public Library and Michigan State's Writing Center, I have collaboratively designed several community curricula spanning from professional and technical writing workshops to youth writing workshops. In doing so, I have also mentored undergraduate and graduate students in community engagement work and programming, in ethical, reciprocally-driven ways. Examples include:
Beyond Insights
Beyond Insights is a community-engaged partnership between Lansing Public Schools and Michigan State that provides sixth-graders. The program emphasized collaboration, community, and multimodality as students planned, recorded, and edited short multimodal video projects. I mentored an incoming graduate assistant for the program and undergraduate students interested in community engagement and K-12 education.

TRiO Writing Workshops
In my role as TRiO SSS Writing Engagement Liason Program (WELP), I have collaborated with the office to design writing, reading, and literacy workshops for TRiO scholars to develop academic literacies to both successfully engage academic coursework after the first year and to navigate the institution. These workshops were in addition to serving as a Program Instructor in the EXCEL program.
